Fogwells in Belgium

Let's see, in this episode we've been to the zoo, experienced sale mania, and seen the cool sailing ships.

The zoo is cramped but good. The weird thing is that the city is towering over the little place. There are many apartments and offices that look down onto elephants and monkeys! And, of course, the elephants and monkeys can look up and see the poor animals who have no outside yard. Many of the animal exhibits give the habitat of the animals among ancient ruins - Egyptian, Indian, etc. That was kind of neat. The monkey's 'ruins' reminded me of the orangutans hideout in Disney's Jungle Book.

Lee Ann took a day off of work to catch the sales on July 1. We needed to buy gear for our sailing trip in August. I don't really know if we got any bargains but there sure were a lot of people shopping!

The sailing race to Norway started from Antwerp on Sunday. The pictures don't do these ships justice. There were sailing ships from all different countries - many from Russia. I don't know if these ships are just historic relics, or if they're still actually used in the shipping business... (probably the former).

I've tried to order the pictures from most to least interesting - so start at the top and go across until you get bored - have fun!
