After three and a half months, we have our first visitors from home 
- my parents.  They're here for two weeks and we're having fun! I 
am collecting many new day trips and keeping track of where I want 
to return.
Our excursions into the Netherlands have been good.  It is a beautiful 
place.  By the sea, it is more empty than Flanders (northwestern 
Belgium) and sprinkled with cows and windmills.  The streets and 
small towns are immaculate. 
Southern Belgium is also nice, except that they speak French there. 
Learning Dutch is enough.  Waterloo is just south of Brussels and was 
worth the visit.
It is now mussel season and you can buy steamed mussels and 
french fries everywhere.  It's a good combination.
Lee Ann and I have our 20th wedding anniversary today (8/29). 
We'll probably do something this weekend.
