24 Hours in Shanghai                                                                        Home

This is a time lapse view of Shanghai, China shot from our apartment. We overlook the HuangPu river, which gets a lot of traffic. It is fun to see the ferry boats dodging the barge traffic. The video was taken at 10fps with one frame taken every 30 seconds. That is 12 seconds per hour. I started the recording around 4:30pm on October 4, 2012. For calibration, I believe they turn off the bridge lights at 11:00pm. You can jump past the nighttime and see sunrise at 2:45 into the video.

Shot with an old iSight camera on an old G4 Mac, using iStopMotion. Double click for full screen.
