This was really odd to me. The Chinese are atheists so the wedding ceremony is not religious. One strange result of this was the company boss giving the sermon (or speech.) There were two other guys that MC the ceremony. The whole thing had more the feel of a TV game show than a wedding - which was very strange. At no point do the bride and groom commit to each other in front of (God), family, and friends. The most formal part of it is when the bride and groom bow to heaven, to earth, and to family. They also do a shot of something (bei jiu?) together. This is the boss giving his speech. They especially recognized one couple, where both the bride and groom worked for ASB.
