毛豆,  在我家的物.  高林

I wanted to collect some pictures and videos of the animals that I see at home. I now realize that I really miss looking out the window and seeing them! I'm also surprised at how many animals I come across. I have seen dozens of animals in the five weeks we have been home. Here is a list from the most exciting to the least:

Black bears - we saw a mother and her two cubs run across the road on our drive up to Canada. The cubs had to be from this year, which meant they couldn't have been more than a couple months old. I haven't seen a wild bear in a couple of years.

beaver - lots in Canada

eagles - lots of eagles on the lake in Canada. They have unusual habits. We sometimes throw out a fish for them.

grouse - the sound of a grouse is surprising. It sounds like a motor trying to start. Canada

pelicans - Canada

geese - up in Cleveland at the park

vultures - Two black vultures eating a dead deer beside the road. not uncommon. NC

owl - NC

loons - you can see a loon swimming in the fighting eagle video

pike/trout/crappie/bass - I caught lots of fish in canada and NC

martin - (looks like a mink) fun to watch them run. Canada

groundhog - seen in NC

racoon - seen in Canada and NC

deer - lots of deer everywhere!

turtle - seen in Canada and NC

frogs/ toads - NC at my boss' house

snake - seen in Canada
